New Delaware Met Principal Reached Boiling Point Yesterday

Yesterday, students at Delaware Met got to leave school early…again…  With only a few weeks left of school at the Delaware Met, apparently something is going on with their heater system because students are reporting the classrooms are VERY cold.  What happened next could only happen at this school where the bizarre and the jacked up seem to be on a collision course every day…Yesterday, on one of the coldest days in Delaware since last March, the temperature in some classrooms was 50 degrees.  Not so for the school’s latest principal who put a space heater in her office.  But when some students actually stole the space heater from her and hid it in the back of one of their classrooms, the principal was not too happy about it.  She stormed into the classroom, got her space heater back, and left.  Never mind that teenagers and teachers were freezing.  As long as she was warm, I guess that’s all that mattered.  As students became unruly, again, the principal decided to venture to the roof of the school in an attempt to fix their boiler.  When that didn’t work, she shut down the school at 1pm.  This information was provided by a soon to be former teacher at Delaware Met.

I am a proud parent of a son with Tourette's Syndrome and several other co-morbidities. I write on this blog to educate other parents so they know a bit more about not only special education, but all the really bad things that are happening with public schools in Delaware and the USA. We are all in this together, and if our children aren't able to advocate for themselves it's up to us parents! We need to stop letting companies run our schools, and demand our children get a proper education. Our Departments of Education in our states have become weak with fear from the bullying US DOE, and we need to take back our schools!
