In the wake of the very tragic Florida school shooting, the pros and cons of teachers arming themselves in schools is coming up in a big way on social media. I am very curious as to your thoughts on this. Please take the poll and feel free to leave your thoughts. I would just ask that you be respectful to both sides in your comments.
I don’t subscribe to teachers havingbfirearms but Indo believe that an administrator with a CCDW should be able to

Teachers that do arm themselves should receive a stipend to keep their skills current.

Gun-free school zones make everyone in a school sitting ducks for a mentally-unbalanced or disgruntled person who wants revenge by shooting. He knows he can “get more bang for his buck” because there will be no one to stop him, at least long enough to inflict the damage he wants.

I wonder what the data in regards to test scores says of schools/districts where educators can carry v. non-carrying schools/districts.

Video games, that allow “players” to practice moving from room to room killing everyone, are most likely the spur to this sick fantasy. The ease of obtaining assault weapons and Ammo makes revenge for every school insult child’s play. Locked doors keep guns out. Teachers would be violating a basic trust if they could become protective killers at will by having guns in the classroom. Children don’t need that image projected into their imaginations.

I think we have enough angry people with guns in this Country. I also Feel Military Style Weapons should be band from the public ,If you aren’t in the military you don’t need a military style weapon. You don’t need an AR15 to kill a deer.
