Newark Charter School Teacher Got Her Job Back

Newark Charter School

backtonormal

The Newark Charter School teacher who apparently lost her job over a “physical altercation” two weeks ago has been reinstated at the school.  After students staged a sit-in and the bizarre incident caused me to write more articles than I would have dreamed of, it appears the administration completed their investigation of the “slappening” and gave the teacher her job back.  I’m glad the teacher got her job back.  But I also hope this situation opened the eyes of NCS parents and students into the minds of the admins.  The students proved their voice does matter!

Is the student involved still attending NCS?  I don’t have an answer to that one.  But it appears things are back to normal for Newark Charter School, aside from the lawsuit they joined with 14 other charter schools and a strange occurrence at their homecoming dance on Saturday.  Female students were asked to hand in their purses.  The students were also told they had to purchase water at the event by at least one chaperone.  While this wasn’t enforced, many parents felt this was over-doing it at a student body function.  Many parents reported their child was allowed to drink from a water fountain.  For a school that has a student body activity bucket of money that is second only to the Cape Henlopen School District, I find it ironic they would ask students to purchase water…

I don’t know if this is a normal practice at school dances for female students to not be allowed to carry their purses.  If anyone knows, please comment.  I understand the concern for security, but I would think student belongings being stored in a place they don’t have access to could be seen as invasive.

  1. Where in the world do you get your information? It’s hard to believe things you write about schools that I don’t know about when I see so many false things written about the schools I do know about.

  2. So…once the school interviewed everyone involved, considered all the gathered information then finished their investigation, they decided not to terminate the teacher. Wow, what a novel concept! Maybe next time you’ll try this approach instead running with a half-baked story and trolling teenagers. I highly doubt you will, but I at least had to offer up the suggestion.

As far as “Watergate II” goes…really? You consider this blog-worthy? CSD’s invalid local funding exclusions would seem to be a much better topic on which to spend your time. $9 million in exclusions vs ~ $150K on average for ALL the other districts. But hey, I’m sure they had a real good reason for holding back that funding from the kids to whom it belongs, lol.

    1. Considering I wrote extensively about the lawsuit last week, and plan on writing more about it as things come up in the future, I wouldn’t say I’m giving it short shrift. Sometimes I write stuff that is so ridiculous it has to be seen to be believed. If people want to see it as humorous or pathetic depending on their point of view, the choice is their own. I could go into details about how I know the teacher was terminated, but that would be a privacy issue for a particular student so I won’t go there. I’m sure you can appreciate that Patriot!

    2. We have covered it a 1000 times and will now cover it the 1001st.

Christina’s exclusions were legal, they were approved by the DOE, and when Blowman tried to change them in the dark of Townsend Hall, the blowback changed them back, leaving all those the exclusions previously approved, in place…

No matter how may times you lie about the exclusions… no one believes you. The truth was explained to them, and your sides retort to that explanation has since September 7th…. been silence…

  3. So let me make sure I have this straight. The DOE is completely incompetent when it comes to charter school approval and compliance…but they are 100% competent when it comes to “approving” CSD’s exclusions which just happen to be completely out of line with all the other districts. Gotcha. This sounds A LOT like “Trump” logic. You know, how he actually knows more about ISIS than the generals, lol.

    1. You raise a good point Patriot. In a crack-smoking world that is. Bottom line is they approved CSD’s exclusions and failed to gain the necessary approval from Godowsky before they went ahead and sent out the charter bills. As required by Delaware state code thank you very much. You will never see me accusing the DOE of being competent or compliant. But when they do follow the law, I have to point it out. Do you like apples? How do you like them apples?

      1. All you continue to demonstrate is how biased and inconsistent you are when it comes to the DOE and NCS. The DOE only “does their job” when it fits your storyline, otherwise they are incompetent. You have no proof they even reviewed the CSD exclusions, just using a negative confirmation approach which is they did not explicitly reject their exclusions therefore that means they approved them. Just spitball here, but another option is…they didn’t review their exclusions for almost 10 years. Not surprised at your answer here given you used the same approach on the “slappenning” story (i.e. Since NCS didn’t parade their internal investigation to protect those involved and jump to a speedy conclusion, that means they’re corrupt and have something to hide). Trump logic at it’s finest, lol. Please keep the hate and ass-backward logic going. I thoroughly enjoy reading your fiction when I need a good laugh.
