I have actually heard this rumor the past few months. I haven’t written about it because I did not know if it was 100% true or not. I had a feeling it was. It turns out the Public Integrity Commission is very interested in this as well. So much so that it is on their agenda for their meeting on Tuesday, April 19th. Who is the board member and who is the Superintendent? All I can say is several people know this. While I’m not going to name it here, I did give a hint two months ago. While I didn’t get the exact relationship right, it still is a potential conflict of interest. The bottom line is this: the school board member should have disclosed the relationship and abstained from voting for the Superintendent.
While I won’t name the school board member or the Superintendent, there is nothing stopping anyone from guessing…
A really important precept to remember: just because something is legal doesn’t make it right.
