Robo-Call This First State Liberty: Christina School District Wins Referendum!

Christina Referendum, Christina School District

As I watched the vote tallies coming in for the past hour, it looked like the “against” side was going to win the day. But as more schools reported numbers, the gap narrowed until the “for” side jumped ahead. And it kept staying that way. With over 13,000 voters, this referendum certainly came down to the finish line. It would be very hard to say what factored into the votes. Governor Markell’s video support or First State Liberty’s shady antics most likely swayed some voters either way. But at the end of the day, I would like to think it was concerned citizens voting for students that caused the victory. With an unofficial 6,770 for and 6,625 against, it came down to about 150 votes.

I would like to thank all those who voted yes. For those who voted no… I understand some of your motivations. But others, I will never be able to fathom. I’m talking to you FIRST STATE LIBERTY. Yeah, we know, you guys were just the front people for someone, but some of your tactics were a bit underhanded and we both know it. Don’t try denying it.

  1. Markell could care less, he’s not running for office! Now the over the top, over paid administrators get to keep their jobs!!

    1. They are a very right-wing organization who only seems to come out of the woodwork during school referendums. They come out with very questionable data and make robo-calls to residents in the district trying to convince them to vote no for referendums. From my experience, they are either greatly misinformed or deliberate in their actions. Jury is still out on that one.

        1. You see, the difference between you and I Anon, is I would never ban you from commenting on here. I may not agree with you, but I wouldn’t do that. For a group that so fervently believes in 1st Amendment rights, you are certainly quick to ban folks from your Facebook page who disagree with your group. Myself included. I call that utter hypocrisy.

          1. That’s pretty easily explained… if one always tells the truth, one really doesn’t care what people comment because truth always finds its way out in the end… But if one knows one is lying, then banning is necessary, because you know someone else may see one person effectively questioning your lies, and may then do so as well…

  2. I just want to take a brief moment to thank each and every one of you who voted to support the Christina referendum and the children who will benefit from your decision. I also want to take this opportunity to invite those who opposed the referendum to contact me and allow me to be a facilitator of dialogue with Christina District administrators and board members so that together we can assure and reassure you that this success is in the best interest of public education and the children.

Once again thank all of you for exercising your civic responsibility and coming out to vote. All of you should be proud that you participated in the democratic process.

    Respectfully,

    Representative John Kowalko
