Conflict Of Interest At Charter School Of Wilmington?

The Charter School of Wilmington.  The holy grail of all Delaware charter schools.  I bow to your excellence.

Okay, with that out of the way, I just have one question. Why is a former board member giving the Board of Directors at Charter School of Wilmington board training?  Doesn’t that seem, I don’t know, a bit odd?  But sure enough, it happened.  And not that long ago.

Former board member Henry Clampitt, who finished his term on the board a few months ago, has been very active with the Wilmington Education Improvement Commission.  Rumor has it he may try to run against Red Clay Board President Kenny Rivera in 2017.  Hey, if he wins, maybe he can give the Red Clay board training!  Or will he have to wait until he is no longer on the board?  If I lived in that district, the last person I would want on the board is Henry Clampitt!  This guy is a charter guy through and through.  He supports enrollment preferences and pre-tests, just like the kind Charter School of Wilmington has.

But I really want to know more about this board training he is giving.  What kind of training was it?  Was it training on board ethics?  Or training on how to pick the best cherries during the cherry harvest?  Inquiring minds want to know Mr. Clampitt!

I am a proud parent of a son with Tourette's Syndrome and several other co-morbidities. I write on this blog to educate other parents so they know a bit more about not only special education, but all the really bad things that are happening with public schools in Delaware and the USA. We are all in this together, and if our children aren't able to advocate for themselves it's up to us parents! We need to stop letting companies run our schools, and demand our children get a proper education. Our Departments of Education in our states have become weak with fear from the bullying US DOE, and we need to take back our schools!
