This chain of emails is very interesting. We have Penny dealing with two different parties on the MOU. Or does Debon have something else in mind? Read the emails and try to figure this one out…
Who in the world is Debon Lewis? According to his LinkedIn account he is a co-founder of a couple of companies called AKALA Inc. and Transformative Growth Founders. AKALA, founded in August 2014, and TGF in September 2014. In addition, he started consultant work with a company called SchoolWorks in Septermber. Prior to that, Lewis was a principal at a KIPP high school in Brooklyn, NY.
Could Lewis have been helping with the school leader aspect of the priority schools? Note that Lewis is using a gmail account as opposed to an official company. Also note Lewis is paid as an individual and not any company. The mystery continues…

So when we were writing our final draft of Priority Plan- Mr. Lewis was the second gentleman to help us ‘see the light.’ He was engaging, and understood and knew just what the rubrics required. Started out a TFA, maybe w/Chris R, Principal of Achieve First, and then KIPP. Started a consulting firm. Our belief was students first. Obviously his interest began long before January!

note to Debon – this is just embarrassing….”A Transformative Servant Leader – I collaborate to establish deep structural shifts in the basic premises of thought, feelings, and actions which leads to a transformed sense of possibility. This shift of consciousness dramatically and irreversibly alters outcomes for people and organizations.”
